Antonio Felix da Costa will be a new driver for Porsche, in the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season.
The Portuguese driver won the title in the 2019/20 season for DS Techeetah, which even was his first season for the French outfit. He replaced Andre Lotterer back then, who moved to the new Porsche team.
And he is going to replace Lotterer this time around as well, since the German will be focusing on Porsche and their new sportscar programme in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Da Costa has been in Formula E since the very first season in 2014, where he was signed up for the second race of the season by Amlin Aguri. He has missed a couple more races this since then, but he’s one of the most experienced drivers in the electric cars.
Experience is a key thing in the upcoming 2022/23 season, since there will be brand new cars, that the teams will have to find every single trick to work with.
Antonio Felix da Costa will team up at Porsche with Pascal Wehrlein, who will have his third season for the German team.
In addition to Formula E, the Portuguese racer has a lot of experience in sportscar racing, where he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the JOTA team this year in LMP2 – a team that will run one of the brand new Porsche sportscars in 2023, but without Da Costa being confirmed just yet.
