5 more line-ups completed

The driver announcements for this years 24 Hours of Le Mans keeps coming in.

Matthieu Vaxiviere will be driving with Nicolas Jamin and Julien Canal at Panis Racing. Jamin and Canal are usually paired up with Will Stevens as the third driver in the European Le Mans Series, but Stevens is part of the Jackie Chan DC Racing #37 outfit in the FIA WEC and also the 24 hours race. Vaxiviere is a perfect replacement as the third driver, since he has a lot of LMP2 experience. He raced LMP2 in both 2017 and 2018/19 in the FIA WEC alongside Francois Perrodo. He has primarily done GT3 racing lately, but he will surely be up to speed very soon again.

Car Guy will take over the MR Racing entry, where Kei Cozzolino is the connection between the two. Cozzolino is team boss and driver at Car Guy in the Asian Le Mans Series, but has the sole role of being a driver at MR Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship. The team still haven’t announced the third driver for the Ferrari 488 GTE Evo #70 in the GTE Am category.

Another GTE Am outfit is HubAuto Racing. They will be running car number 72. The Taiwanese team won their spot on the grid by winning the Asian Le Mans Series GT title in the 2019/20 season, where the team was quite dominating. They raced car 27 in that championship, so they have a love for the numbers 2 and 7. Team owner Morris Chen and Marcos Gomes will be joined by Tom Blomqvist, who hasn’t raced for the team before, but has a lot of GTE experience from BMW, when he was a works driver for them.

Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche has confirmed two of the four Porsche cars. The regular FIA WEC line up of Christian Ried, Riccardo Pera and Matt Campbell, while #88 will be run by Lucas Legeret, Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak and Ricardo Sanchez. The three drivers made their debut at the FIA WEC race at Spa Francorchamps last week, and was on their way to a podium position, before a penalty send them down the ranks in the GTE Am field.

The team still have one car under the Dempsey-Proton banner and a single with the Proton Competition name, and the drivers are not yet announced for those.

More announcements are expected in the coming days since the race is getting closer and closer.
