FIA Formula E Championship have now secured their German Round on the 2016/17 calendar.
After they had to cancel the city race in Berlin earlier, it has now been announced that they will return to the former airport Tempelhof, where they races in the 2014/15 season.
The organizers prefer a city centre race, so they will keep working on that for the 2017/18 season.
The race was moved from the former airport to the city centre because Tempelhof was used as a refugee camp for some time. But now it’s possible to use the area for racing again.
The race will be held on June 10th, so the exact same date as the city race was planned. The organizers informs that all the fans who has already bought tickets will be able to use them for this one too, plus all the tribune tickets will be allowed in the so called Category 1 tribunes at the Tempelhof track.
The next round of the FIA Formula E Championship 2016/17 will be held next weekend in Buenos Aires.
