HTP Motorsport enters ADAC GT Masters

HTP Motorsport returns to ADAC GT Masters in 2017.

The German almost-works team for Mercedes will have Maximilian Götz and Patrick Assenheimer in the car.

The car will be a Mercedes-AMG GT3, which is the preferred weapon of choice for HTP Motorsport. The last time we saw them in ADAC GT Masters it was in an unusual Bentley Continental GT3. Furthermore they are well known faces in Blancpain GT Series and at the VLN races, as well as various other GT races.

31 year-old Maxi Götz will come directly from 2 DTM season with Mercedes. However, he has done plenty of endurance mileage both prior and during the sprint seasons. He won ADAC GT Masters in 2012 for Kfzteile24 MS Racing Team together with Sebastian Asch in a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3. In 2014 he won the Blancpain Sprint Series Cup alongside Maximilian Buhk for HTP Motorsport.

24 year-old Patrick Assenheimer will be, even at his young age, at his fourth season in ADAC GT Masters. The first three seasons was done with Callaway Competition in a Corvette C7 GT3, but now he will go from a 6,2 liter Corvette engine to a 6,3 liter AMG tuned Mercedes engine. Slowly but surely he moved further and further forward in the standings, and in 2016 he finished third in the Junior standings. In 2017 he certainly can’t complain about the team, the equipment or his team mate –  all three parts are absolute top quality.

The ADAC GT Masters season starts on April 28th-30th at Oscherleben.
