Veach leaves Andretti

Zach Veach and Andretti Autosports have chosen to split up.

In a short statement from the team, they explain that they have terminated their contract instantly, and that they will announce his replacement in the near future.

The NTT IndyCar Series 2020 season has been really bad for Veach. The American is currently 20th in the standings, behind all the Rookies, and only just ahead of Marco Andretti. Everybody else behind the pair has only done selected rounds.

The season started well at the oval in Texas, where he finished fourth, but he has only finished in the top 15 two times in the following 8 rounds.

The 2020 season was the third full season planned for Zach Veach, but in 45 races, he has only finished in the top 10 nice times – with just three of those being in the top 5. That is a really bad average, for a driver with that amount of experience.

The NTT IndyCar Series 2020 has three races left on the schedule – to at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and a single street race in St. Petersburg, Florida.
