The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship has released what they hope to be the final version of the Season 7 schedule.
The 2020/21 season has once again been plagued by the COVID-19 situation, so the first schedule was quickly abandoned again, and replaced by an emergency schedule. That one was released bit by bit, over the spring months.
We have already run two races in Saudi Arabia, two races in Rome, and two races in Valencia. Still to come, is a Saturday-only race in Monaco in early May, with the premiere of the full Formula 1 circuit for the Formula E cars, and not just parts of it, like in the past. The trip then goes to Puebla in Mexico, replacing Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, which is on the outskirts of Mexico City. Puebla is a bit further out, so the organizers aim to be able to run an event there. That will be two rounds as well.
Then it’s time to go north, for a double round in New York, on the harbour front like in the earlier years.
Once those two races are run, the teams will have to rush back to London for another two rounds, before the season finale will be held at Tempelhof in Germany.
Marrakesh and Santiago have been removed from the interim schedule. The series already promises to be back in Sanya, Seoul and Santiago in Season 8, but there is no mention of Marrakesh just yet.
The latest, and hopefully final version of the 2020/21 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship schedule looks like this:
