IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship has moved the date of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen 2024.
The new date will be 23 June, with the previous date clashing with the 24 hours race at Spa Francorchamps in Europe. That made several manufacturers very upset, with some of the drivers doing both the Belgian classic, in addition to the 6-hour race at Watkins Glen, north of New York.
That will make it a super busy month for sportscar drivers in 2024.
On 1-2 June there is 24 hours at the Nürburgring, one week later it’s Le Mans test day, with the 24-hour race itself being run on 15-16 June. And then the drivers and teams will jump on an airplane to Watkins Glen – and then fly back to Belgium on 29-30 June, and the days leading up to it.
The rest of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule remains unchanged for now.
