The seventh round of DTM 2018 was run on the streets of Nürnberg, also called Norisring. Edoardo Mortara started the race from Pole Position with 0,001 second ahead of Philipp Eng, and 0,022 seconds from Marco Wittmann – Mercedes, in front of BMW, and BMW. Five hours after the chequered flag fell at the Hungaroring, at the 6th round of this year’s DTM Championship, three documents were released from the stewards. Car number 7, 22 and 48 were disqualified from the race due to dangerous driving in the pit, where the drivers didn’t drive with appropriate speed. The sun was on full power, when the fifth round of the DTM was run at Hungaroring near Budapest. Paul di Resta had grabbed Pole Position ahead of Nico Müller, Lucas Auer and returnee Rene Rast. The fourth DTM race of the race was run under perfectly blue skies at the Lausitzring. Philipp Eng was on Pole Position ahead of Pascal Wehrlein and Gary Paffett. Rene Rast won’t participate in the DTM Sunday race at the Lausitzring. The defending DTM Champion had a serious accident during the Saturday race, where he rolled his Audi Sport RS5 DTM car, with basically only the safety cell left of the car. The series has got a new TV deal in Germany, so SAT.1 will broadcast the races instead of ARD, and that will make some changes to the starting times of the races. BMW has released the colours of their 6 DTM cars for the upcoming 2018 season. The first DTM test of the year was plagued by very bad weather. The test was planned to be run at Vallelunga north of Roma in Italy. It turned out to be very limited testing for all three constructors, who were present at the track.
