ADAC GT Masters with a huge field

When the ADAC GT Masters 2018 has their first race weekend, in the middle of April, it will be with a huge field.

With 37 entries, it will be the highest entry since 2012, for the successful German series for GT3 cars.

A total of 8 different brands will be fighting against each other.

Other than Audi, Mercedes, Corvette, Lamborghini, Porsche and BMW, all keeping on going like in 2017, Ferrari is back, as previously mentioned here.

The brand new thing in ADAC GT Masters will be Honda, who enters their Honda NSX GT3, that we already know the IMSA Championships in the USA.

But it will be a goodbye, at least for now, to Nissan. The MRS GT Racing team announced round Christmas time, that they would be racing BMWs this season, and no other team has opted to run the GT-R model.

23 teams will enter the series, with a total of 37 cars, so there will be a lot of battling both within the teams, but also between the many different teams.

Audi will be represented with 12 cars, Mercedes has 7 cars, 5 cars from Lamborghini, 4 from both BMW and Porsche, Corvette and Honda has 2 cars each, and a single Ferrari so far.

The ADAC GT Masters usually delivers exciting races, even through the times with less than 30 cars. But just try to imagine 37 cars at full blast towards the first set of corners at Oschersleben on 14 April – well, the question is, if all 37 cars make it through, which they hopefully will – but there will probably be a few body panels left here and there, and especially at Turn 1 on the opening lap.
