Tower Motorsport signs top drivers

Tower Motorsport will run the Rolex 24 at Daytona 2023 with some very interesting names behind the wheel.

Tower is John Farano, and he has previously had success in the European Le Mans Series, where he won the LMP3 title in 2018. He went on to race in LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019. He won the LMP2 Championship in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2022.

He has managed to sign not only one but two Team Penske drivers. Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden will be sharing the ORECA 07 Gibson at the upcoming 24 hours race in Daytona, this coming January. They have previous American experience from Indycar – a Championship that Newgarden has won twice. McLaughlin made his debut in 2020, but quickly got up to speed, and was actually leading the standings early on in 2022, but did lack the final bit, to be a title contender at the end.

The last name on the car is Kyffin Simpson. The young driver was born in the Bahamas, before moving to the Cayman Islands, before his motorsport career really got underway in Florida. Simpson won Petit Le Mans 2022 with Gradient Racing in 2022 in the GTD category, and now moves into the LMP2 category. he won the Formula Regional Americas Championship in 2021, and raced Indy Lights in 2022. Simpson will do the full Michelin Endurance Cup season with Farano.

The team was testing for the very first time this week, prior to the official testing at the ROAR on 20 to 22 January, with the race itself being run one week later.
