The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Canada will unfortunately be without Christina Nielsen.
The Dane will be racing in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia at the Fuji track in Japan. Ana Beatriz will be place the Dane in the Heinricher Racing w/Meyer Shank Racing Acura #57.
The deal with Heinricher Racing was originally only for the Daytona 24 Hours, where she should replace Jackie Heinricher. That evolved into her also doing the Sebring race – and then Mid-Ohio – and now it’s actually been all rounds so far this season.
But since the contract with Craft-Bamboo Racing was signed before the “reserve driver job” appeared at Heinricher Racing, the Mercedes AMG GT3 car takes the first priority this weekend.
Nielsen currently sits seventh in the GTD Championship alongside teammate Katherine Legge, with the pair having 28 points up to the championship leading sister car #86. Legge will continue that hunt solo for the rest of the year, since Ana Beatriz only has been called up during the endurance rounds at Daytona, Sebring and Watkins Glen.
Good luck in Japan, Christina.
