Thankfully undramatic ending to Nürburgring

After two red flags in the first two ADAC Formula 4 races this weekend, it was thankfully an undramatic finish to the weekend. Marcus Armstrong started the race from Pole Position ahead of Julian Hanses and Enzo Fittipaldi, while Dane Frederik Vesti started fourth. The starting grid for Race 3 was set by the finishing positions in Race 1, where top-10 was reversed, while P11 and backwards would keep their positions. That meant Juri Vips in P6 had a great advantage over his closest rival, Felipe Drugovich, who would only…

Brazilian victory in Germany

Felipe Drugovich started Race 2 in ADAC Formula 4 from Pole Position, ahead of yesterday’s winner Lirim Zendeli and yesterday’s big surprise, Andreas Estner. The start ran quite smoothly and Drugovich quickly got a big gap to Lirim Zendeli and the Championship leader Juri Vips, who had overtaken Andreas Estner for third. After the roll yesterday, we didn’t have Nicklas Nielsen on the track today. The car was too damaged for the team to be able to repair for today’s races. That effectively sent him out of the battle for…

It was a shortened and dramatic ADAC Formula 4 race, when Round 13 was held at the Nürburgring. Andreas Estner delivered a surprise with fifth fastest time, right ahead of Championship leader Juri Vips. Markus Armstrong had a terrible qualifying and only managed 13th fastest lap. So there was a potential to lose connection with top 2 in the Championship, but…

Expensive weekend for Sophia Flörsch

In 2015 as only 14 years old, she raced in the British Ginetta Junior Cup, where she was leading the Rookie Championship and had taken two overall victories. It was a big surprise for many, when she announced that she would…

Frederik Vesti takes debut win in ADAC Formula 4

Due to a light moist track after morning rain, race control decided to give the drivers two formation laps and reduce the race time from 30 to 27 minutes. The Oschersleben track however was so dry, with only a few damp patches outside the racing line, so everybody was starting on slicks. The starting grid from race 3 is decided by the race result from race 1, where top 10 is reversed, while the rest start in their finishing positions. That meant that Michael Waldherr had Pole Position, ahead of…

Drugovich dominant in race 2

Felipe Drugovich started race two in Oschersleben from Pole Position, ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Fabio Scherer. Drugovich got a fantastic start, and instantly had a big gap to the drivers chasing him. Laurin Heinrich had a wild ride through the grass in turn 3 on lap one, before Tom Beckhäuser had an even wilder spin on lap two. Both could, however, continue without hitting anything. Halfway through the race we saw Kami Laliberte off the track, and once again dropped out of top 10, just like he did in…

Marcus Armstrong wins race 1 in Oschersleben

Kami Laliberte had taken Pole Position but stalled when the lights went out, and only managed to get going after losing a lot of positions. Fortunately nobody hit him, even though he was completely standstill. That made Marcus Armstrong take over the lead, ahead of Jonathan Aberdein and Felipe Drugovich. Even though they had a close race on track, they finished in that way. Julian Hanses started from P2 but had a bad start too, and fell far back in the rankings on the first lap. Juan Manuel Correa dropped…
