Team Peugeot-Hansen will enter three cars in the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2017. Sebastien Loeb, Kevin Hansen and Timmy Hansen will steer the 3 Peugeot 208 WRX Supercars through all rounds. Sebastien and Timmy were already teammates last year, while Kevin was driving in the sister team Peugeot-Hansen Academy. Prodrive will build a brand new FIA World Rallycross Championship car. The big British racing car manufacturer has made a deal with Guerlain Chicherit to create a Supercar based on a Renault Megane IV. The real car will be presented at the French round of WorldRX at Loheac on September 1st 2017. The car will be thourughly tested througout the fall 2017, before it will enter real events from 2018 onwards. Swede Kevin Eriksson will join Timo Scheider at MJP Racing Team Austria. By that he leaves the family team but will however continue in a Ford Fiesta for the Austrian team. Eriksson finished 11th in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2016, but there is still a lot to learn for the 20 year-old driver. Andreas Bakkerud took the final victory of the FIA World Rallycross Championship of the season in Argentina. The Norwegian had plenty of speed throughout the weekend, that was run a bit untraditionally. We only saw one qualifying heat on Saturday, after a heavy thunderstorm meant the rest of the Saturday had to be cancelled. FIA World Rallycross Championship has announced their 2017 calendar today. Majority of the rounds from 2016 are back on the schedule again, but there are also some date changes. The series will consist of 12 rounds again with the season opener at Circuit De Catalunya in Spain on April 1st/2nd. The new thing on the calendar is the season finale in South Africa, on a new track in Cape Town. It was a big, Swedish day at the FIA World Rallycross Championship Round 11 that was held at Estering in Buxtehude, Germany. Kevin Eriksson won today’s round after a fantastic manouvre, going around the entire field in turn one in the final. The 9 times WRC Champion Sebastien Loeb won his first FIA World Rallycross Championship event today. The French driver beat Championship leader Mattias Ekström in the finale, whilst Loeb’s teammate Timmy Hansen finished 3rd. Mattias Ekström won the FIA World Rallycross Championship event in Spain, that was held at Circuit de Catalunya. On a part of the Formula 1 track, we saw the 9th round of this years Championship held, and the Swede not only took the win but also the Championship lead. Andreas Bakkerud won the 6th round of FIA World Rallycross Championship in Höljes, Sweden. The Norwegian demoted Sebastien Loeb into 2nd position while Timmy Hansen finished 3rd. There was plenty of deficulties for the 110 competitors in Supercars, since saturday was full of rain and the sunday started likewise but dried at the end.
